Carrier Commercial Refrigeration has provided the German retailer Handelshof Cash & Carry with its sustainable and energy efficient CO2OLtecTM refrigeration solution as well as a fully integrated high efficiency heat recovery system. The refrigeration system will enable the retailer to significantly reduce energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions from the store, which is set to open its doors in September.

Aspiring to implement their corporate plan for sustainability and environmental safety also in the field of refrigeration systems for their new store in Hamm, Germany, the retailer opted for a natural refrigerant solution and partnered with CO2 specialist Carrier Commercial Refrigeration.

"Carrier is pleased to be given the opportunity to participate in such an exciting endeavor for Handelshof Group," said Philippe Delpech, president, Carrier Commercial Refrigeration. "The success of CO2OLtec is both supported by a best-in-class CO2 refrigeration design and by visionary customers such as Handelshof Group who want to fundamentally change the environmental impact of their enterprise."
