Ambient temperature is not a deterring factor for the SGP sight glass series designed for higher pressure applications of up to 52 bar in commercial refrigeration and air conditioning. The SGP product launch is the most recent in the Danfoss line of components suitable for R744 among other refrigerants, including hydrocarbons. + video

The SGP sight glass series is engineered with a refrigerant optimised seal for superior system safety and leak prevention. Perhaps the most notable feature is its enhanced light reflection for easy viewing of the refrigerant’s state.

Applications for the SGP valve include: heat pumps, residential and commercial air conditioning, commercial refrigeration and food retail.

Basic specifications for the SGP sight glass valve:

  • 52 maximum working pressure/ 754 psig
  • Working temperature range: -50°C to 80°C
  • Suitable for R744 subcritical systems
  • Transparent glass and brass housing provides enhanced light reflection to view refrigerant

The sealing material used in the SGP sight glass has been used in Danfoss products for decades and has proven reliability under rigorous laboratory testing in extreme conditions.
