Advansor is raising the bar.

The Danish manufacturer has announced that, beginning in 2022, all of its CO2 (R744) racks will be approved for a pressure standard of 130 bar instead of its traditional 120 bar.

“We have tested and approved more than 4,500 components and are now ready with the new solution,“ said Kenneth Bank Madsen, Technical Director at Advansor, in a statement.

Advansor is a leading European manufacturer of transcritical CO2 systems for supermarkets, warehouses and ice rinks.

According to Madsen, with an ambient temperature of 45°C (113°F) at the gas cooler, the higher pressure rating will increase capacity up to 13% and COP up to 7%.

While the improvements are notable for warm climates and heat pump applications, “the safety buffer will increase” regardless of climate, said Advansor.

The 120 bar option is still available.

“We have tested and approved more than 4,500 components and are now ready with the new solution.“
