Danish multinational HVAC&R firm Advansor is expanding its headquarters and production facilities in Aarhus after reporting growing demand for products using natural refrigerant CO2.

Work on the new site in Brabrand has already started. The 10,000 m2 production facility will be double the size of the current site, located 6 km away in Bautavej, Aarhus.

“One of the things that makes Advansor unique is the close link between sales, design and production,” said Advansor CEO Kristian Breitenbauch. “The new framework makes it possible for us to cooperate closely.”

“With CO2 as a natural refrigerant, we help to reduce the climate impact.

Since its establishment in 2006, Advansor has become one of the world’s leading manufacturers of CO2-based HVAC&R systems in a wide range of applications including in supermarkets and cold storage facilities.

The construction of the new buildings, due to open by the end of the year, follows the opening of a factory in Poland in 2017.

Breitenbauch puts the company’s success down to the growing popularity of natural refrigerants as a means of helping to achieve sustainability goals. “The climate impacts of environmentally harmful refrigerants are enormous. With CO2 as a natural refrigerant, we help to reduce the climate impact,” he says.

In 2018, Advansor reported growth of over 30%, with turnover reaching almost €70m.
