Italian component manufacturer CAREL tripled the number of its energy-efficient CO2–based refrigeration projects with DC inverter technology in 2018, the company said in a statement today.

The systems sold during 2018 saved almost 3,000 MWh of energy, with almost 1,500 tonnes (metric tons) less CO2e released into the environment, Carel noted in the statement.

In addition, CAREL estimated that its 2018 projects cut environmental emissions by 2,500 tonnes of CO2e compared to R404A solutions of equal capacity. This represents a net total savings of 4,000 tonnes of CO2e – the equivalent of no cars driving through central London for 20 days.

CAREL’s COproducts include pRack contollers, ExV-C high-pressure valves and Emj electronic modulating ejectors.

“Solutions with natural refrigerants represent the present and no longer the future,” said Matteo Dal Corso, application specialist – retail solutions for CAREL. “Solutions with natural refrigerants represent the present and no longer the future.
