The new Danfoss integrated pack control for transcritical CO2 booster systems offers precise regulation, improves efficiency and helps to make the technology more user friendly.
The AK-PC 782A replaces a previous Danfoss model, the AK-PC 781, for most transcritical CO2 applications.
The big difference between the old and the new is that where previously multiple controllers were needed, the new AK-PC 782A performs all necessary control functions in one, integrated solution.
It can handle up to eight medium-temperature and four low-temperature compressors.
“The last couple of years have seen a fast growing interest in transcritical packs as safe, efficient and environmentally-friendly solutions.”
Kenneth B. Madsen, Danfoss
“The last couple of years have seen a fast growing interest in transcritical packs as safe, efficient and environmentally-friendly solutions. With the new AK-PC 782A, we take the development of CO2 refrigeration to the next level and offer improved energy efficiency to all climate zones,” said Kenneth B. Madsen, head of food retail at Danfoss.
“At the same time, the new controller is easy to operate and takes up less space in the electrical panel,” Madsen said.
AK-PC 782A also introduces floating receiver pressure control. This feature can deliver energy savings of up to 4% in warmer climates.
Controlling the integrated heating system
In addition, the AK-PC 782A offers control floor heating, space heating and pumps. The graphic interface supports the trouble-shooting and service during daily operation.“AK-PC 782A marks an important step in electronically delivered services and data management. The new controller not only ensures high performance and efficiency, but also returns real-time and actionable data, allowing fast response to alarms and optimised operation at all times,” said Product Manager Brian Skov.
