Danish OEM Advansor now holds ISO 50001 certification in energy management “within the scope of designing, producing, and selling CO2 [R744] climate solutions,” the company announced in a statement.

“Implementing Energy Management is an essential step for Advansor towards achieving our goal to be carbon-neutral in 2025 and thereby helping their customers to fulfil their climate action goals,” Advansor said.

As part of its efforts to become carbon-neutral in 2025, Advansor has signed the Climate Pledge and joined the Race to Zero campaign. “The UN Sustainable Development Goals are our guiding stars,” said Advansor CEO Kristian Breitenbauch. “Using only the natural refrigerant CO2, we protect our groundwater and fight climate change.”

“At the same time, our climate systems are very energy-efficient, reducing energy consumption,” Breitenbauch continued. “For instance, we use hydrogen-soldering only and electric trucks in our production, and we made living easy for those driving electric or hybrid cars with chargers in 20% of our parking spaces.”

“However, there are several things we don’t even notice on a daily basis, such as CO2-neutral heating, bee-friendly planting and cradle-to-cradle certified carpets. It feels the same but makes a world of difference,” Breitenbauch concluded.

Advansor’s new ISO 50001 certification doesn’t just benefit Advansor itself. The company’s products also help its customers save significant amounts of energy. A Belgian Delhaize store has saved 40 – 45% in energy, with a new Advansor CO2 refrigeration rack, and a Norwegian supermarket managed to save 58% in energy with a new rack and ejector technology.

Advansor also delivers racks for industrial purposes, including for ice skating rinks. The municipal ice rink in Advansor’s hometown Aarhus, Denmark, has saved 50% in energy consumption by installing a direct CO2 refrigeration system rather than one running a secondary water/glycol system.
