This week at China Refrigeration – China’s leading HVAC&R tradeshow – technology suppliers were looking forward to the first ever ATMOsphere China conference, to be held in the capital Beijing at the Sheraton Beijing Dongcheng hotel (11-12 April).
“We are very excited at the idea of ATMOsphere China,” said Giovanni Dorin, marketing manager at Officine Mario Dorin S.p.A., headquartered in Italy.
“It is a really good opportunity for us, and for the market, to finally have an in-depth look at CO2 and other [natural refrigerant] technologies in such a context,” Dorin said.
“I think the time is ripe for China to get going with this technology.”

In addition, representatives of leading Chinese industry associations, such as Wang Wenhua from the Chinese Chainstore and Franchise Association, will join local end users such as Jing Dong Group (JD.com), one of the nation’s largest players in the e-commerce retail space, to discuss natural refrigerant technology.
Suppliers expect this week to feature robust discussion on different applications of natural refrigerant technology at both China Refrigeration and ATMOsphere China 2018.
“I’ve been speaking with some customers and they are really interested in applying CO2 in industrial systems,” said Dorin. “We’re currently ready with our engineers to present our innovative solutions.”
“I think the time is ripe for China to get going with this technology,” Dorin said. “Other natural refrigerants are already used – China is used to using ammonia and hydrocarbons. But CO2 is really something newer here. And the market is requiring that kind of technology.”
