In a bid to consolidate its presence in Central and Eastern Europe, the Epta Group has announced the acquisition of DAAS, a Romanian HVAC&R firm active in the commercial and industrial refrigeration sectors.
DAAS has over 25 years of experience in HVAC&R and currently employs over 200 professionals in engineering, project management, installation and aftersales services.
Headquartered in Ploiești, some 60 km north of Bucharest, DAAS also has facilities in Bucharest, Iasi and Cluj.
In keeping with its policy of internationalisation, the Epta Group said the acquisition would, “consolidate its position in the Europe, its core market, by establishing direct coverage of areas with the greatest potential”.
Epta hopes the acquisition will reinforce the firm’s presence in Central and Eastern Europe.

Huge growth potential in Romania
The Epta Group is optimistic about the prospects for growth in Romania. The country is Europe’s seventh most populous, and its GDP is forecast to grow by more than 4% in real terms in the medium term.
“This agreement will allow us to grow together and be even more competitive whilst benefitting from each other’s competences,” said Marco Nocivelli, chairman and CEO of Epta.
“We aim to deliver turnkey projects in Romania thanks to our wide range of technologically advanced and sustainable solutions,” Nocivelli said.
The Epta Group has identified Romania’s retail sector as being “particularly favourable” owing to the high number of large-scale retail brands and the group’s “consolidated business ties with the main international chains”.
Epta already has a presence in Central and Eastern Europe thanks to Epta International, a technical and commercial coordination centre in Hungarian captial Budapest, and Epta Polska, established in 2017 following the acquisition of Libre Sp. Z o. o. Sp. K..
