Fazzari succeeds Bruce Nelson, who has transitioned to a new role as Director of Innovation at Colmac Coil. Fazzari will have the oversight of all operations and strategic direction of Colmac Coil.
“I am excited to take on this new challenge with our focus being to continue Colmac Coil’s growth with new, innovative products for the industrial heat transfer industry,” Fazzari said in a statement.
Colmac Coil’s products include evaporators for CO2 (R744) and ammonia (R717). In 2018, shecco, publisher of this website, named Colmac Coil’s low-charge ammonia DX evaporator the Accelerate America Innovation of the Year.
Fazzari has been with Colmac Coil since 2002, serving as Vice President for 13 years. He has played an active role in helping guide the company’s strategic plan over the past 16 years. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in the state of Washington and is actively involved in the International Institute of Ammonia Refrigeration (IIAR) community.
“I have found that the best way to grow our company is to listen closely when customers speak and work to develop new products and new product features that solve problems for our customers,” said Fazzari. “If you listen to your customers carefully, they will tell you what direction to go in order to better serve them.”
Nelson, who served as Colmac Coil’s President for 24 years, will continue as Director of Innovation. He “led Colmac Coil through decades of growth and helped make Colmac Coil a leader in the industrial heat transfer industry,” the company said. Nelson was chair of the International Institute of Ammonia Refrigeration (IIAR) from 2019-2020.
“It is very gratifying for me to have seen Joe grow and mature as an engineer and as an executive manager at the company,” said Nelson “He knows our industry well and is well known by many in our industry, having served for several years on the Board of Directors of IIAR. Joe is well suited and well prepared to lead the company going forward and will keep our customer-focused culture going strong.”
