Swiss engineering consultancy Frigo Consulting has joined the world’s leading CO2 (R744) refrigeration manufacturers and service providers as a bronze partner on R744.com.
Frigo Consulting specializes in CO2 refrigeration and provides engineering and consultancy services. The company is “completely independent” of equipment manufacturers, and as a result its engineers have “much more leeway to develop creative, innovative and sustainable solutions,” Frigo explained on its website.
Frigo Consulting prides itself on delivering tailor-made “efficient and cost-saving refrigeration [systems] with natural refrigerants.” Frigo’s offerings include service and professional support all the way from engineering to implementation, training and maintenance support.

One of Frigo Consulting’s large customers is German wholesaler Metro AG. One example of their collaboration was the 2020 installation of CO2 racks in two stores in Bulgaria, saving Metro 26% in energy consumption.
Metro has also converted two Romanian stores to CO2 refrigeration without experiencing any downtime during the seven-month project, working in collaboration with Frigo.
The companies have also collaborated in Russia, where Frigo helped Metro install its very first transcritical CO2 store in 2018.
