Japanese heat exchanger and unit cooler (evaporator) manufacturer Haraseisakusho is working on making its entire unit-cooler lineup compatible with CO2 (R744), according to the company’s President, Masanori Hara.
The company exhibited its CO2 unit coolers, aimed at the industrial refrigeration industry, at the HVAC&R Japan 2022 trade show, held February 1-4 in Tokyo.
“Out of our entire lineup of products, those compatible with CO2 have grown around 50 – 60%,” said Hara. “We are currently working towards making all our product categories compatible with CO2 in the future.”

At HVAC&R Japan 2022, Haraseisakusho exhibited its mid-size ceiling-mounted CO2 unit cooler, which uses electronically commutated (EC) fans from ebm-papst. The company also exhibited a floor-mounted unit cooler compatible with CO2. The unit is available in capacities ranging from 26kW (7.39TR) to 160kW (45.5TR).
