U.S. component manufacturer Mueller Streamline, a subsidiary of Mueller Industries, has joined some of the world’s leading CO2 (R744) manufacturers and service providers as a silver partner of the R744.com marketplace.

Mueller Streamline specializes in piping systems, including copper tubing, line sets, fittings and valves suitable for CO2. The company’s portfolio includes Streamline XHP tube and fittings specifically designed for high-pressure refrigeration applications, and a ball valve series for transcritical CO2 designed by Mueller Refrigeration, another subsidiary of Mueller Industries. Mueller Refrigeration designs and manufactures valves, protection devices and brass fittings for the commercial HVAC&R industry.

Mueller Streamline has industry certifications, such as UL, cUL and CE, and offers an extensive line of products that are compliant with the EU’s RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances Directive).

The company prides itself on “using [the] highest-quality materials and precision tooling.”

“Choosing Streamline means choosing strength, precision, reliability, and unmatched performance,” Mueller Streamline says on its website

The Mueller Streamline XHP, a copper-iron piping for pressures of up to 130bar (1,885psig), is one of the company’s most popular products. The XHP was launched several years ago in response to large demand and is available in sizes ranging from 3/8in to 2-1/8in (0.95 to 5.4cm) in outside diameter. The copper-grade alloy used in the tubes is compliant with UNS C19400 (high-strength modified copper). The XHP tubes are third-party verified through UL for a maximum operating temperature of 120°C (250°F).

“We see huge demand – especially in Norway and Sweden, where there are [government] incentives to go green and switch to a green refrigerant like CO2,” Mueller Industries’ Director of International Sales said in 2016.

“Their neighbors in Europe are looking at the energy savings you can get [from CO2] so they are also looking towards [transcritical] CO2,” Nilsson said at the time.
