M&M Carnot, a leading North American manufacturer of natural refrigerant-based industrial and commercial refrigeration and controls, on February 16 announced the acquisition of Logix, a U.S. industrial-refrigeration controls manufacturer.

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Logix, based in Kirkland, Washington (U.S.), provides controls for wineries, cold storage warehouses, distribution centers, and processing plants. The company recently announced that it will launch a refrigeration system controller specifically designed for industrial CO2 systems in March;  the controller was developed in partnership with South African CO2 refrigeration consultancy Future Green Now (FGN). Logix has also upgraded its Axiom III processor with connectivity capability to meet customer demands for AI computing and IoT integration.

Logix will continue to operate under the Logix brand. Co-Founder Mike Ghan will remain with the business providing technical support and guidance.

M&M Carnot, based in Annapolis, Maryland (U.S.) formed in July 2019 when M&M Refrigeration, a major supplier of industrial ammonia/NH3 (R717) and ammonia/CO2 (R744) cascade systems, acquired Carnot Refrigeration, a leading supplier of transcritical COsystems to multiple business sectors.

In April 2021, M&M Carnot announced the release of Aquilon DS, a new line of CO2 air-cooled condensing units (CDUs) for industrial applications.

“We are excited to welcome Logix to the M&M Carnot family, said Dave Sholtis, CEO of M&M Carnot in a statement. “Logix is a high-quality brand with leading-edge technology and outstanding customer focus. We will support their growth and development efforts, concentrating on natural refrigeration solutions. The acquisition will also provide M&M Carnot with a physical West Coast location to better serve customers in this region.”

“Logix is now better positioned to remain the market leader in industrial controls and continue to meet requirements for energy sustainability, safety, and capability,” said Ghan.

“We will support [Logix’s] growth and development efforts, concentrating on natural refrigeration solutions.”
