Sinop, a Czech Republic-based manufacturer of refrigeration equipment and systems, has joined the world’s leading CO2 (R744) HVAC&R providers as a silver partner of R744.com.
Founded in 1994, Sinop has been working with CO2 since 2010.
Sinop has manufactured a range of CO2 booster, cascade, parallel compression, ejector and other customized systems, such as the retrofitted refrigeration system at St. Olav Hospital in Trondheim, Norway. The company produces systems for commercial, marine, offshore and high industrial applications up to 900kW (255.9TR) in cooling capacity.
In October 2022, it was announced that Sinop would be manufacturing the second-generation of the TripleAqua CO2-based heat pump.
Future-proof solution
Sinop has said that it has chosen CO2 as its “number one natural refrigerant” due to an absence of legal restrictions.
“Using CO2 as a refrigerant is a future-proof solution,” the manufacture says on its website. “Sinop’s mission in sustainability is why it’s following all the modern trends in the refrigeration field, where high efficiency, reliability and sustainability are top priorities.”
The company also manufactures small propane (R290)-based beverage coolers.

Expanding production capacity
In addition to its headquarters, Sinop has three production sites in České Budějovice, Czech Republic. To meet growing demand, the company plans to open its fourth manufacturing facility this year.
“Sinop is growing very fast in all sectors and has become one of the most reliable European manufacturers of refrigeration units, especially qualified in customized solutions,” it says.
The company exports to several countries in Europe and around the world.
