Five Grocery Outlet and Raley’s stores have raised money from the sale of refrigerant carbon credits after choosing to install refrigeration systems that use natural refrigerants instead of HFCs.
Similar to utility rebates, refrigerant-carbon-credits program rewards owners of refrigeration systems for replacing HFCs with natural refrigerants like CO2.
