Temprite, a U.S. manufacturer of oil management products for refrigeration systems, announced the release of its largest transcritical CO2 (R744) coalescent oil separator, the Model 439A, designed to meet the growing demand for larger transcritical CO₂ systems.
“The Model 439A is an ideal fit for commercial cold storage, district heating, and heat pumps,” Temprite said in a statement.
The new unit offers double the refrigeration capacity of its predecessor, the Model 239A, while taking up less than double the space, Temprite said. Model 439A also has four times the capacity of Model 139A.
Jim Nonnie, President of Temprite, observed the growth in application size of the company’s oil separators. “It used to be for grocery, then ice rinks, then refrigerated warehouses, heat pumps and district heating,” he said in an interview last month at the IIAR conference in Long Beach, California.
Temprite described the Model 439A as a “high-performance component that offers greater efficiency and reliability in large-scale transcritical technologies,” adding, “its highly efficient coalescing filter technology, which has been a hallmark of the Temprite 130 Series oil separators, ensures clean, dry refrigerant flow and minimizes the risk of compressor failure, resulting in improved system performance and longevity.”
In addition, Temprite said, the Model 439A offers energy savings, high oil separation efficiency, clean oil, increased system capacity and easy maintenance.
West Chicago, Illinois (U.S.)-based Temprite manufactures both coalescent and conventional oil separators, as well as oil reservoirs, drier housings, liquid receivers, suction accumulators and other refrigerant oil management products. All products accommodate CO2 and hydrocarbons, and ammonia-compatible versions of many of its products can be made if they are not already available.
Label renewed
Last month Temprite renewed its ATMO Approved Natural Refrigerants Label from ATMOsphere, a global market accelerator of clean cooling and heating solutions, and publisher of R744.com.
ATMOsphere (formerly shecco) launched the label last June as a global gold standard highlighting best-in-class manufacturers of natural refrigerant systems and components around the world.
“Temprite has been a long-time believer in and supporter of ATMOsphere,” said Nonnie. “We recognize the publicity and exposure that being associated with ATMOsphere provides.”
One customer representative, Alessandro Silva, Senior Application Engineer at Bitzer US, commented that Temprite’s CO2 coalescing oil separator technology “has resulted in less oil being carried through the system, leading to lower energy consumption, better temperatures and improved system performance.”
“It used to be for grocery, then ice rinks, then refrigerated warehouses, heat pumps and district heating.”
