The new IntelOil is designed to electronically control the oil level in the compressor crankcase, using high resolution float-sensor technology. The standard product has a maximum working pressure of 60 barg and the high pressure version has a maximum working pressure of 120 barg, which is suitable for use in transcritical CO2 systems.

The Danish Technological Institute (DTI) presented two papers on topics related to CO2 refrigeration systems at the 2014 Gustav Lorentzen Conference on Natural Refrigerants held in China from 31 August – 2 September. In the first presentation, ice storage for a transcritical refrigeration system is suggested in order to achieve greater energy savings in warmer climates, and flexible power consumption.
